Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of SlothTube, the Chrome extension and the website at slothtube.net ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using SlothTube you agree to them, to our Privacy Policy and to our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use SlothTube. Contact: support@slothtube.net.

The service

SlothTube adds a side panel to YouTube with transcripts, AI summaries, chat, quizzes, translation, notes and channel analysis. The AI features need a video's captions; without them, they cannot work for that video and nothing is charged. SlothTube is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.

Your account

• You need an account, created by signing in with Google, and you must be at least 16 years old.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• An account is for one person. Each person may have only one Free account; creating extra accounts to collect free credits is not allowed.

Plans and credits

• Free: 30 credits. Every 30 days your balance is topped back up to 30.
• Plus: 800 credits a month, plus Skills.
• Pro: 2,000 credits a month, plus Skills.

On a monthly plan your credits are renewed when each monthly payment goes through; on a yearly plan, every 30 days.

Features use credits based on how much they process. For example, a summary or quiz costs 1 credit per roughly 10,000 words of transcript (about an hour of video), and a chat costs more as it grows longer. Transcripts and paragraph-by-paragraph translation are free within a daily fair-use limit. The current credit costs and daily limits are shown on the pricing page, and the extension shows the price on a button before you press it.

• If a request fails on our side, its credits are returned automatically. Once a request has started, leaving the page, switching videos or losing your connection does not return its credits.
• Plan credits do not carry over: at each renewal your plan credits are set back to your plan's amount.
• Plus and Pro subscribers can buy one-time credit packs. Pack credits do not expire, are used after your monthly credits, and stay with you if your subscription ends.
• Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money except as described in the Refund Policy.
• We will announce changes to prices, credit costs or limits at least 14 days in advance.

Payments and subscriptions

Paid plans and credit packs are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. It handles billing, taxes and invoices, and its own terms also apply to your purchase. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added at checkout depending on where you live.

• Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year, and you authorize the charge for each renewal, until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from Manage Subscription in the extension. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
• If we raise the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal at the new price, so you can cancel first.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Fair use

SlothTube is built for one person using it by hand, and each account has daily limits to keep it fast and affordable for everyone.

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts or other automated means to access SlothTube, or scrape it;
• try to bypass credits, limits, the waitlist or our security, or reverse engineer the service;
• try to make the AI ignore its instructions or produce content unrelated to the video;
• share, resell or rent your account or the service;
• use SlothTube for anything unlawful, or to harass, deceive or harm others.

AI output

Results are generated by AI. AI can misunderstand, leave things out or be wrong, and the same request can give different results. Check anything important against the original video. AI output is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial or otherwise), and you are responsible for how you use it.

Your content

You keep any rights you have in what you type into SlothTube, and the output we generate for you is yours to use. Similar requests may produce similar output for other users. You give us only the permission needed to process your content to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train AI models.

YouTube and other people's content

Videos, transcripts and comments belong to their creators. SlothTube helps you read and study them; it does not give you any rights to them. You are responsible for using YouTube content in line with YouTube's terms and copyright law. SlothTube uses YouTube API Services: by using SlothTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

If you believe something in SlothTube infringes your rights, email us with the details and we will look into it.

Our service

The SlothTube name, logo, sloth mascot, website and software belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use SlothTube while your account is in good standing; they do not give you any ownership. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Availability and changes

We work to keep SlothTube running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features depend on third parties such as YouTube and may change or stop working. We may change, add or remove features. If we shut SlothTube down, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription period.

Liability

SlothTube is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using SlothTube and delete your account at any time from the account menu in the extension. We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by abusing the Free plan, fair use or the refund policy. Unless the breach is serious or the law prevents it, we will email you first and explain why; you can reply to contest the decision and we will review it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will update the date above and announce material changes on this website at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using SlothTube after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about SlothTube. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
