Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SlothTube (the Chrome extension and the website at slothtube.net) collects and why. SlothTube is run by İbrahim Çakır, Türkiye, who is responsible for your data ("we", "us"). Contact: support@slothtube.net.

The short version

• We do not store the summaries, quizzes, analyses or translations we generate for you.
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.
• We never see your card details.
• You can delete your account and everything linked to it from the extension.

What we collect

• Account. You sign in with Google. We receive a user ID; your email address is not stored on our servers.
• Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address only to tell you when SlothTube opens. Email us to be removed.
• Plan and credits. Your plan, credit balance and the subscription details our payment provider gives us.
• What you save. Your History, notes, Saved Skills and chats, so you can come back to them. You can delete them at any time.
• Usage and technical data. Which features you use and how many credits they cost, error reports and server logs. We use them for credits, refunds, limits, security and fixing problems. Usage records are deleted after 12 months.

What the extension accesses

The extension runs only on youtube.com. It reads the video you open (its address, details and captions) to make your transcript, summary and other results. It does not read your browsing history, other websites or your YouTube account. Screenshots you take stay in your browser. It asks Chrome for two permissions: storage, for your settings, and cookies, to use your sign-in from slothtube.net.

To make repeat requests faster, public video data (such as transcripts, video details and statistics) is cached on our servers for up to 90 days. This cache is not linked to you.

Who else handles your data

• OpenAI generates the AI results. It receives the text a request needs, such as the transcript and your message. Under its API terms, this data is not used to train its models (OpenAI's privacy policy).
• YouTube API Services. SlothTube uses YouTube API Services to get public information about videos and channels, such as titles, statistics and comments. By using SlothTube you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See also Google's privacy policy.
• Our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, sells our plans as Merchant of Record and handles your payment details.
• Other service providers for sign-in, transcripts, hosting and error tracking, who process data only to run SlothTube.

Some providers are outside your country, including in the United States, and use legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Cookies

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in on slothtube.net. They are necessary.
• Analytics cookies. Only if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, this website uses Google Analytics to count visits. Clear this site's data to change your choice. The extension does not use analytics.

Why we use your data

To provide the service you signed up for (our contract with you), to keep it secure and improve it (our legitimate interests), to measure website visits and contact you about the waitlist (your consent), and to keep payment and tax records (legal obligations). We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Chrome Web Store and Google user data

SlothTube's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your account data while your account exists. Choose Delete account in the extension's account menu to delete your account, plan, History, notes, Skills and chats right away; backup copies are removed within 14 days. If you received a refund, we keep a one-way hash of your billing email so the one-refund limit still applies. Cancel any paid subscription before deleting your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, withdraw consent, or complain to your data protection authority. Email support@slothtube.net and we will reply within 30 days.

Security and children

Connections are encrypted and access to our servers is restricted. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you where the law requires it. SlothTube is not meant for children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and announce material changes on this website at least 14 days before they take effect.
